Don't Wait to Celebrate

Don't Wait to Celebrate

1.      This Week's Hot Tips

In my mind, every day is a special occasion. I don’t need a reason to wear glitter or sequins. Why wait for a big fancy event on a specific date to put on your party clothes?

Likewise, we don’t have to wait for the specific and exact completion of our goals to celebrate. I like to revel in the little wins, the forward motion and even the rapid recovery from a setback. Even the smallest festive reaction can help us to maintain momentum.

Every coaching call, I ask my clients, “What are we celebrating?” Here’s what I am looking to hear from them.

  • The Process: Staying the course and taking consistent action. Consistent action will yield consistent results eventually. I enjoy celebrating those sometimes-mundane tasks that grow a business.
  • The Challenges: As we grow in our entrepreneurial journey, we have to master the art of bounciness. There are going to be times when it feels like the whole bottom is falling out.  I like to celebrate the resilience and the closing of the delta between the setback and clear action.
  •  The Big Wins: Of course, we have to celebrate the big ones like securing a multi-six-figure client, launching a new service, negotiating the terms of a dream project, and/or completing a huge project.  I have a beautiful decorative bell on my desk that I ring for clients when we have a big win. Truthfully, I ring it for myself too.  Dancing usually happens as well.

My ask of you this week: Celebrate and amplify someone in your network

1.     Client Spotlight:

Speaking of celebrations, this weekend I had the pleasure of heading to the University of Northern Colorado to celebrate Dr. Teneshia Taylor, Ed.D 's graduation.

It has been a joy and a delight to be on the dream team that supported her during her doctoral journey. During our coaching sessions, there may have been tears, laughs, and talks of letting this idea go. But Dr. T did the work and persevered.

Her dissertation, The Experiences of Black Diplomat Families in U.S. Sponsored American International Schools, has already been lauded as seminal work. As I type this, she is gearing up for the expansion of her education consultancy practice, Beyond Bias.

Do me a favor and connect with her on LinkedIn and send her a celebratory note.

3.   Event Recommendation: WATCHFUL Webinar for Parents

One more celebration… I am celebrating Denida Grow , CEO of Athena WorldWide & Nannyguards. She is a thought leader in the Protective & Intelligence Service space who is passionate about keeping children safe.

Before my parents, caregivers, aunties, and babysitters head into Summer Break, spend a few minutes with Nannyguards – The Child Protection Specialists, to learn practical tips on how to identify potential threats and create safer and more secure environments for the children in your life.

Date: Sunday, May 14th at 10:00 am

Location: Zoom

To register, please email info@lemareschal.com with "Watchful" seminar in the subject line.

5. Ask Keita:

Q. Hello Keita! It has been a rough couple of months for my business.  With that said, we are more than likely going to miss our revenue goal this year. Is it wrong to celebrate that we are still standing?

A:  I am celebrating also with you that you are still standing. I would use this rough patch as a trampoline to bounce back. Continue to move forward without regret and celebrate completing your daily MMAs (Money Making Activities) that align with a simple plan.  And know that it will get better very soon.

If you need to find more ways to celebrate in your business, I am extending a personal invitation to have a brainstorming session with me. Book some time here.

Let's get after it!
