Drifting Desert Sands

Drifting desert sands

Like waves they ebb and flow

Soft satin sheets moulded in rows

Transcending sparkles of light rebounding from the moon

The camel caravan acting like a broom

Shimmering diamond grains sparkling through their toes

Shadows and light put on contrasting shows

A glitter trail of gold as the camels make their way 

Under the cover of night 

Then resting by day

A refreshing evening breeze gently blows again

Feeling cool 

Within this arid terrain 

Arabian nights with magic in the air

Wishes made and secrets to share

Stories to tell of legends of old 

Pages are turned and chapters unfold

The landscape so vast and so free

By night 

Escaping the suns intensity

Musical notes and gentle lullabies 

Played on mandolins 

Emotions within your eyes

Black velvet dreams as you go to sleep

Wonderful moments - with treasures to keep 

Drifting desert sands sifting through time and space

The sandman's hour glass - never waits xx
