The Drip, Drip, Drip of Knowledge, Understanding, and Reckoning

“make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality, nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life, you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.” — Jon Krakauer (Into the Wild)

Good morning world, it’s 5:59 a.m., I’m up, coffee is made, PVHT is to my right, as is my guitar (she’s weeping), my wife is slow asleep. How are you? It’s Friday, we made it, another day of labor and then some relaxation. I woke up to a message from my son; we get to see our grandbaby on Sunday, meeting them at a park to play and give M and M some gifts from a faraway land.

Yesterday was a collection of meetings; we ended our day with a management meeting, my wife and I creating a path for our future. The future is bright; it’s time to get to work, more about that in the future. Right now, I’m going to make a little morning word soup.

I met my friend Jeremy and his son for lunch. We talked about many things; he gave me a wedding present, he and his wife are too kind. He had repurposed an old card; it made me laugh. We dined and chatted about the world these days. As I entered, there was a sign on the door that shared that they no longer would be open on Monday; they could not find enough labor to operate. When the government pays people to stay home, why work? Subway is now giving a stimulus check if you can show up for work for 30 consecutive days; I don’t think many will take them up on their offer.  Why work when you can feed off the teet of your great-grandchildren?

We talked about science, masks, vaccines, shots, lazy people, and as we chatted, Jeremy noticed a police officer having a bite to eat. He casually mentioned to the server, let me get his ticket. Anonymously he bought a blue man’s lunch, providing a solid example for his son, support the boys in blue; it’s what we do. Their lives matter, hell, all lives matter, can we say that these days?

I left there and attended a conference on work-life balance. It’s not like the old days where I had to drive to a location and participate in a meeting; I sat in my car, pulled up the webinar, and listened. There was not too much actionable advice, I was a little disappointed, but I’m sure I got a nugget that will impact my life in the future. Never stop learning; open the mind and let knowledge drip, drip, drip.

I headed home, worked a little, then ran a meeting with a long-term client. I then ran a demo on some new software we are looking to utilize; these days, there are revolutionary tools. We ended our day loving, touching, squeezing, and watching a true crime show on the telly.

Today we have meetings; I’m teaching the first of three classes for my clients under my Sherpa brand.  We meet with our VRBO group later today, reviewing the contract, planning on using this asset to generate income; we have now positioned ourselves for flow income. Mailbox money, more nuts to store in our trees.

Gas prices are now $3.00 and will continue to climb; they are talking about increasing the gas tax to pay for the infrastructure program. If you want to hurt the lower and middle class, increase the gas tax. Those that claim they want to help the working men and women of society are shills for the rich and powerful. Every day is April 15th.

I saw where restaurants in Denver now require you to show a vac card to enter without a mask. The President of the United States tweeted, “the rule is now get vaccinated or wear a mask; the choice is yours.” What happened to HIPAA? Isn’t my health information private, or are we now in a world where we discriminate against those that choose not to allow foreign nonapproved DNA modifying substances into their body?

The world has gone insane, mad, and I’m watching with popcorn. I don’t get angry at these wild policies and devaluation of our dollar; it is what it is, said my father-in-law; it is indeed Jerry Jo. I’m of the mindset that when given the monopoly board rules, I can read, maximize our ability to pass go, invest in boardwalk and park place, play your games, and always win.

So how are you? Are you content, radiant, and glowing in this new world? Are you happily watching the war in the middle east? Just a few months ago, there was peace; now, there is war. Ask yourself what changed? I was asked yesterday what one should do during these times, and my answer was to look to the micro. The macro is a burning bag of thievery from the future so focus on what you can control.

I am sitting next to my wife, my beautiful stunning gorgeous wife, and our pup. We sit in our home in downtown Indianapolis and have planned a fantastic weekend of love, joy, and happiness. That is my focus; that is where my mind is these days, is there another option? Soon we will travel back west to sit in our mountain top retreat and let the world catch fire; we will watch the smoke billow and sit in our hot tub enjoying the life we have made together.

We will hang out with our fellow mountain dwellers, those brave men, and women who traveled west while you still could. If you live in the city, my advice is to get out if you can; those that can’t are soon to suffer; it’s coming, this tide of reckoning, the choices of the masses will not end well. Doom and gloom, Nah, just reality, you make your choices and then preach about equity, not understanding equality.
