1yAs always Safety is paramount. Humans entering Confined Spaces is still needed for Sanitary System Rehabilitation from my experience, but view a Safety Force Multiplier with drone technology being implemented. I cannot stress this enough. The danger involved working in confined spaces is extremely high. Many times I would be in situations where there was NO way to make the work safer, it is what it is. As a Foreman/Crew Leader I would put myself in the danger zone, to protect my crew. I've personally lost countless hours of sleep on this subject. It was the main reason I recently changed my career path and moved on from Sanitary Sewer work. Even with Safety redundancies in place, it will continue to be something that I'm passionate about.
