Earlier date for 40s market
Chesterfield’s popular 1940s Market is set to return to the town earlier than usual this year.
The action-packed market will be in town on Thursday, 11th April, transporting the town centre back to the 1940s with a variety of music, street performance and fancy dress.
The free entertainment is for the whole family to enjoy with the return of a replica Spitfire – a popular attraction at previous events.
Organised by Chesterfield Borough Council, the event will happen alongside the popular weekly Thursday flea market.
The date of the market has been brought forward from the autumn to allow for the start of town centre regeneration work later in the year, as part of the multi-million pound Regenerating the Heart of Chesterfield project.
