Eddyfi Technologies Upgrades UltraVision® with Enhancements for Advanced UT Analysis
Textual note taken from Eddyfi Technologies on October 28, 2024
Recent updates to Eddyfi Technologies’ UltraVision® software have significantly expanded its compatibility and flexibility, offering enhanced functionality for users of the Gekko®, Mantis™, and Panther™ systems. By integrating data file formats from these systems, the software offers improved interoperability and provides ultrasonic testing (UT) analysts with the freedom to choose the most appropriate analysis tool for their specific needs.
For Capture software users, the update significantly enriches the analysis experience by incorporating UltraVision’s advanced data analysis capabilities. These enhancements include file and volumetric merging and advanced viewing options, making UltraVision a powerful tool for UT data processing.
One of the key features of UltraVision is its volume-corrected data analysis for top (C), side (B), and end (D) planes, which converts angle beam data into Cartesian views. This process allows users to view data in ways that are more akin to traditional radiographs, making it easier to interpret. The Projected Views feature further enhances this functionality by isolating data volumes in three dimensions, enabling analysts to quickly identify and size indications without needing to examine individual data slices.
For complex inspections, like welds inspected from multiple angles or raster scanning tasks, the Volumetric Merge function consolidates multiple beams and channels into a single data volume for streamlined analysis. This capability, along with Projected Views, optimizes inspection reviews.

In addition, UltraVision offers advanced calibration and processing for Time-of-Flight Diffraction (TOFD) inspections. This includes lateral wave straightening, removal, and Synthetic Aperture Focusing Technique (SAFT) processing, which enhances TOFD accuracy.
The software also improves C-scan processing, with features like the ability to generate new C-scans from stored data and various filtering options. For large-area inspections, C-scan stitching integrates multiple scans into a unified view, which is especially useful for corrosion surveys.
One of the most notable upgrades is multi-screen support, which allows NDT analysts to display different layouts and views simultaneously on separate screens. This feature greatly enhances efficiency in data analysis by maximizing screen real estate.
UltraVision by Eddyfi Technologies is a comprehensive software package that provides advanced tools for a wide range of inspection needs. We encourage users to explore its full capabilities by visiting www.eddyfi.com and contacting our NDT experts for personalized assistance.
