Aecon consortium selected as preferred proponent for the stations contract on the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain project
Aecon recently announced that South Fraser Station Partners, a consortium in which Aecon holds a 33.3% interest, was selected by the Province of British Columbia as the preferred proponent for the stations contract on the Surrey Langley SkyTrain project.
The project includes the design and construction of eight stations, three transit exchanges, nine power substations, and 250 metres of guideway at the SkyTrain’s terminus station. Financial close is expected in the second quarter of 2024.
Aecon and partners celebrate groundbreaking for the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport Redevelopment project in Anguilla
Aecon was pleased to join representatives from the Government of Anguilla, Avia NG, and local partner Kelly Construction to celebrate the groundbreaking milestone for the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport Redevelopment Program Package 3 project in Anguilla.
The ceremony marked the start of construction on the island’s new 4,650 m² airport terminal building, along with airside and landside works. Aecon has been awarded a US$48 million contract to deliver the project over a two-year construction schedule. Find out more here.
Aecon consortium selected to redevelop the Cyril E. King Airport and Henry E. Rohlsen Airport in the U.S. Virgin Islands
Aecon also recently announced that VIports Partners (“VIports”), an Aecon-led consortium, was selected by the U.S. Virgin Islands Port Authority to redevelop the Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas and the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport in St. Croix under a collaborative Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Maintain Public-Private Partnership model. Aecon Concessions will hold a 50% equity interest in the 40-year concession, and Aecon is the design-build lead. Financial close is expected in the first quarter of 2025 following a nine-month transition period.
Alltrade/Tristar partnership to deliver Overhead Catenary System installation
Aecon was pleased to announce a new partnership between Aecon’s Tristar Electric Inc. and Alltrade Industrial Contractors, operating as a joint venture under the Tristar banner as Alltrade/Tristar. The new partnership will work to deliver the Overhead Catenary System installations for Metrolinx's Hazel McCallion LRT project, operating as a joint venture under the Tristar banner as Alltrade/Tristar. Tristar is also pleased to welcome new team members through the partnership and will assume Alltrade’s ongoing and future project pursuits in this market – expanding our expertise as a turnkey service provider for key clients.
