Eight Years

Eight Years

Time flies by so quickly. I cannot tell you how many decisions, moments, gifts, joy, pain, sorrow, stories, laughter, and life changes happen in only eight years. This picture represents a milestone moment for me on this day. 8 represents a number that when you turn it on its side also represents infinity. On this day, 8 years ago, my oldest daughter graduated from college. I was so proud, and still am.

Being reminded of this, made me think about all of us and how much that happens each day of our lives. Each second, minute, hour, transcending into days, weeks and then months eventually corresponds to seasons. And, then in the blink of an eye, another year goes by.

Do we see how are lives are moving forward? In eight years, so much has happened to me. To us. To humanity.

I do not take enough time to reflect on the power each of us has to uplift someone, hurt another, change a perspective, cause someone to fall backward, or hopefully assist someone around us to move forward and see that they have abundant potential to make eight years or more worthwhile.

Eight years turned sideways can represent infinity or an eternity. But, the reality is that time is flying by, and that gift of life is right in front of our eyes.
