EIGRP Goodbye

This isn’t a configurable feature, it’s simply a message sent by a neighbor in situations it loses connectivity to his neighbor. A great example would be shutting down the link between two routers, you’ll notice that one of the routers will have to wait until Hold Timer expires to declare that neighbor as down.

If you disable eigrp by removing network command on eigrp process, the router will send a “goodbye” (peer termination) message to the peer and the adjacency will be removed faster.

See you on my next post.
