Albaraka was formed in 2011 as an Omani Oil & Gas Closed Shareholding Service Company.
We attended the SPE/IADC Middle East Drilling Technology Conference and Exhibition on 23rd of May 2023 at the Hilton Conrad Hotel, Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It was a truly enriching experience to listen to the panel of experts discussing the crucial connection between technology and sustainability in addressing the climate change crisis. Moreover, the energy industry's commitment to achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050 was a significant focal point of the discussions.
Prior to the conference, Al Baraka had submitted a position paper entitled "Electric Workover Rigs - a technology in transition." Among the 700 submissions received, our paper stood out and secured a position in the top 10% of the highest-performing group. As a result, it received approval for publication. Subsequently, we had the opportunity to present our groundbreaking achievement to an esteemed audience of industry experts. We explained how Al Baraka had pioneered the introduction of Electric Workover Rigs, making Oman and the region the first to adopt this technology. It was a moment of great pride for us to be recognized for our innovative approach, and we were honored to share our success story with such a distinguished audience.
