Kyocera AVX: Winner of the Electronics Excellence Award, embedded world 2024

The Electronics Excellence Award ceremony was held at the Electronic Specifier booth on April 9th at 2pm during embedded world.

KYOCERA AVX clinched the award for its outstanding innovation showcased in its 9002305L0 – UWB LDS Antenna. Accepting the award is Carmen Redondo, Director of Global Marketing Antennas at KYOCERA AVX.

In response to the win, Paige West, Managing Editor of Electronic Specifier, commented, “Congratulations to Kyocera for their remarkable innovation. The judges were impressed by their work, setting new benchmarks for the industry. This achievement is well-deserved.”

KYOCERA AVX’s 9002305L0, also known as the ‘Tulip’, is engineered for both on-board and on-ground (operational over metal) applications, specifically optimized for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) frequencies ranging from 6.0 to 8.5GHz. Fabricated using Laser Direct Structuring (LDS) technology, this approach enables the creation of intricate three-dimensional pattern designs. With compact dimensions of 6.40 x 6.40 x 5.52mm, the antenna is suitable for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly. Its design aims to deliver an omni-directional radiation pattern and consistent phase distribution across the antenna, enhancing the accuracy of UWB systems.

Rohde & Schwarz : winner at Embedded World 2023

The Award ceremony took place at the Electronic Specifier booth at 12:00pm on the 14th of March at Embedded World, where the shortlisted companies and industry experts were invited to attend. Mick Elliot announced to the audience that Rohde & Schwarz had won the award.

Rohde & Schwarz won the award for its R&S MXO 4 Oscilloscope.

The 4-channel oscilloscopes come with bandwidths of 200, 350, 500MHz, 1 and 1.5GHz. at a starting price of €7,600 and many unparalleled functions which let the R&S MXO 4 excel in both performance and value. The R&S MXO 4 oscilloscopes are equipped with a brilliant 13.3” full-HD capacitive touchscreen and deliver a number of industry firsts: They feature the world’s fastest real-time update rate of over 4.5 million acquisitions per second, enabled by a unique 200Gbps processing ASIC.

The R&S MXO 4 offers the world’s fastest update rate of 4.5M acquisitions per second. It lets development teams see and isolate infrequent events quickly and get a better understanding of physical layer signals and test faster.

onsemi : winner announced at electronica

Electronic Specifier announces onsemi as winner of its prestigious Electronics Excellence Award at electronica 2022.

The awards ceremony took place on day one of electronica at 12:00pm, where the shortlisted companies and industry experts were invited to attend. Mick Elliot announced to the audience that onsemi had won the award. 

onsemi won the award for its Ride Vision system, an industry-leading collision avoidance solution designed for two and three wheeled vehicles to keep riders safe on the road.

This is a collaboration between onsemi and Ride Vision, an Israel-based startup. The Ride Vision system uses in its cameras the onsemi Hayabusa (AR0147AT) image sensors, along with an onboard processing unit, where a patented algorithm is used to detect and notify riders of collision threats in real time.

While most modern vehicles have been incorporating safety features and functionality, this is not true of motorcycles – not withstanding that the chances of a fatality in a motorcycle accident are approximately 30 times higher than in a car.

Entry guidelines for the Electronics Excellence Awards

The Electronics Excellence Awards are open to all electronics companies.

All entries should be made using the online submission form. Please follow the instructions closely, paying particular attention to the information being asked of you. Only by keeping to the format and criteria requested can you ensure that the judges will have everything they need to evaluate your entry and compare it accurately with other entries in the category.

Unless otherwise stated, the eligibility period for submissions should relate to work done the period from December 2022 to November 2024.

Companies or individuals may submit entries on their own behalf, or on behalf of other individuals or organisations, including colleagues, industry peers, suppliers or clients. If submitting on someone else’s behalf, please ensure you have their permission to do so.

Entries will close at midnight GMT on 11 October 2024.

Your written entry is the basis on which you will be judged and shortlisted and should be completed to the best of your ability. Make sure you include all of the information we ask for and demonstrate thoroughly how you meet the criteria for the award you are entering. Please also ensure the information is formatted correctly, or it may not be put forward.

Please note that you will be unable to complete your entry if you have not filled out the mandatory fields indicated by an asterisk *.

Judging process

Our judges comprise of an independent panel of senior representatives from end-user organisations, consultants, and key industry players who are carefully selected by the editors of Electronic Specifier.

The Judges gather together for an exclusive judging day to discuss the products entered, score the entry, and ultimately decide on our winners. All scores are collated and verified to avoid anomalies and are then averaged to determine the winners.

Where applicable, judges sign Non-Disclosure Agreements and must declare any association or involvement with any of the entries.
