ELEVATE your affiliate program with these marketing strategies

ELEVATE your affiliate program with these marketing strategies

With the ELEVATE Summit 2024 just days away, I thought I would use this week’s newsletter to offer you some double value; I’ll give you a glimpse into the kind of things you’ll learn if you attend ELEVATE this year and some practical advice you can start implementing right now.

One of the reasons we started ELEVATE is because of how fiercely competitive the affiliate marketing industry has become. Affiliate marketers and managers need a trusted place where they can source the learning they need as well as learn the latest updates. So, today, I’m going to run through ways to push your affiliate marketing program forward.

Just before I do, this is also your reminder that ELEVATE is a one-of-a-kind affiliate marketing event taking place in London from September 16th to 17th. It’s the place to be challenged, enlightened and empowered as you engage with top-notch content, immersive masterclasses and strategic networking opportunities.

Social Media

You’re probably already on social media (who isn’t these days?) but that doesn’t mean you’re actively using social media. It’s not enough to set up an account and hope people will find you. In fact, having an empty account can sometimes be worse than having no account at all. Affiliates need support which relies on effective communication, so an empty account doesn’t support this.

You can use these accounts to directly advertise your affiliate program but there’s much more you can achieve through social media marketing. If you want affiliates to find and trust you, you need to make your accounts fountains of knowledge. To achieve this, share valuable content such as industry updates and practical tips alongside promotion. Give potential affiliates a glimpse into the value your program provides.

Emails

Email marketing is the chance to connect on a more personal level. Social media posts can achieve this to an extent but it’s more like casting a line out into your target market and hoping to catch a bite. Email marketing is already working with a captive audience so you can get much more granular with it.

The best way to take advantage of this is with a newsletter. Again, the newsletter can contain promotions for your affiliate program such as updates, special offers and events. However, you also want to make sure you’re giving people something extra. You can optimise this strategy by only targeting your top customers. Mention their loyalty to your brand and why you think they’d make a fantastic affiliate partner.

Paid Ads

Don’t be intimidated by paid ads, even the budget-conscious affiliate manager can benefit from them. Paid ads can be used to target specific keywords that relate to your niche or industry and can be more efficient than social media. While social media is about broadening your reach and establishing your credibility, paid ads streamline your marketing strategy.

Paid ads will also help you improve brand awareness as your audience will become more familiar with your product(s). The decision to incorporate paid ads into your marketing strategy should be based on your niche, the value of conversion and your specific goals.

Industry Contacts

Never underestimate the power of word of mouth. Forging strong connections is essential in affiliate marketing, and there’s no better place to do this than events. Of course, there are great places online, such as LinkedIn, that have groups you can join that will place you in the right circles. But, the connections we forge in person tend to always have a greater impact.

These connections can help with the promotion of your program since they may recommend it to others, helping you utilise one of the most effective marketing tactics: recommendations.

If you want to take advantage of an event that will connect you with leaders in the industry, then I hope we’ll be seeing you at ELEVATE this year. We’ll be exploring even more ways to successfully market your affiliate program as well as ignite your imagination and provoke thought-provoking discussions that transcend conventional boundaries.

Combining affiliate marketing sales and lead generation at ELEVATE this year we will be showcasing the synergy between these disciplines, how to harness them for your business and gain expert insights from top professionals in these fields.

See you there!
