SCMR 2024 breakthrough: Predicting Adverse Outcomes with Myocardial Strain MR Imaging

At SCMR 2024, groundbreaking research using cvi42 software unveils the predictive power of myocardial strain metrics derived from CMR imaging.Analyzing data from 45,700 participants in the UK Biobank study, researchers found that deteriorating values of LV GLS, GCS, and GRS were linked to increased risks of HF, MI, stroke, and death. Notably, GLS emerged as the sole predictor of death, underscoring its significance in risk assessment. These findings highlight the potential of myocardial strain MR analysis in revolutionizing cardiac care. Stay tuned for the full article's publication, promising further insights into cardiac health assessment and management.

Interested in implementing myocardial strain evaluation into your clinical practice?

Myocardial Strain is a measure of myocardial deformation, which is a more sensitive imaging biomarker of myocardial disease than the commonly used ventricular ejection fraction. In this paper, the authors review the physics, principles and clinical applications of CMR strain techniques.

cvi42 used in the assessment of Right Atrial Strain* to predict outcomes in patients with DCM

Right atrial (RA) function strain is increasingly acknowledged as an important predictor of adverse events in patients with diverse cardiovascular conditions.  This recent study evaluates the prognostic value of RA strain derived from cardiac MRI (CMR) feature tracking (FT) in patients with DCM.

*Circle's Strain Module is not cleared for use in the RA.
