Elevate Your Team's Wellbeing This October – Simple Steps, Big Impact!

Elevate Your Team's Wellbeing This October – Simple Steps, Big Impact!

As we move into autumn, many organisations are gearing up for Mental Health Awareness Day (10th October) and Work-Life Week (7-11th October). If you're still exploring ideas or need support, you're not alone – I’ve had countless conversations with teams just like yours throughout August.

It’s encouraging to see more companies prioritising the mental health and wellbeing of their employees, both inside and outside the workplace.

Spotlight on Mental Health Awareness Day: 10th October 2024

This year’s theme is “Prioritising Mental Health in the Workplace.” But let me ask you, are your colleagues equipped to recognise the signs of stress and mental strain in themselves? Can they take action before it leads to more serious challenges, including extended time off?

If you're uncertain, let's schedule a time to chat.

Many organisations have already booked my Mental Health Awareness Training to ensure their teams can:

  • Spot some of the common and often unknown signs that can occur with mental wellbeing issues, so they are able to identify issues early and know how and where to reach out for support.
  • Learn the most effective tools and techniques so they can handle the uncertain times or difficulties by adapting positively and adjusting thinking.
  • Be more confident in knowing what impacts positively and negatively on their mental wellbeing so they can be proactive in managing and improving their own mental health.

This 60-minute interactive workshop can be delivered in person or online and provides practical strategies that employees can quickly integrate into their daily routines. The benefits? Improved individual wellbeing, sustained performance and, ultimately, a healthier bottom line.

The Cost of Poor Mental Health

Did you know that poor mental wellbeing costs UK businesses around £56 billion annually? With a workforce of approximately 32.8 million people, that’s about £1,700 per employee each year. Imagine the potential impact on your business.

Workshops to Elevate Your Team

I’m offering workshops throughout October and into the next quarter, including:

  • Mental Health Awareness for Everyone: Equip your team with easy-to-use strategies to maintain their mental health.
  • Mental Health Awareness for Managers: Ideal for teams where managers need enhanced skills to support struggling employees and drive performance.
  • Work-Life Balance: Perfect for those balancing demanding roles with personal responsibilities, especially during Work-Life Week.

Quick Tips for a Happier, Healthier Workplace

Whether your focus is on Work-Life Week, Mental Health Awareness, or general wellbeing, here are five simple yet effective activities to boost inclusivity, happiness, and wellbeing at work:

  • Start the Week with a Welcome: Encourage employees to greet each other and share a weekend highlight to foster a sense of inclusion.
  • Express Gratitude: Have team members send a thank-you note to a colleague, recognising their contributions.
  • Wellbeing Wednesdays: Promote activities like group walks, mindfulness sessions, or shared lunches to emphasise self-care.
  • Share a Laugh: Create connections by having employees share jokes, funny clips, or humorous content.
  • Encourage Work-Life Balance: Ask employees to share what brings them joy outside of work and consider how you can support these pursuits.

I’d love to know how you get on!
