Elf on the Shelf vs. Characters of Character

Elf on the Shelf vs. Characters of Character

Just a thought.........before you know it, Elf on the shelf will be here, I can't help but wonder why not use the characters in the same way? I've written a blog

with them called, Travel Pals. Go ahead and introduce them to your children, students and grandchildren. Allow them to ask questions about what the character trait is, what it means and the importance of having good character.

It's not just once a year, this is a daily task to teach your child to behave, to never give up, to have healthy habits, to be a friend, to use good manners, to be respectful, to be responsible, to like who they are and to be kind. NOT DURING THE HOLIDAYS, BUT EACH AND EVERY DAY.

Encourage your kids to have these traits today as they will follow them all through their lives. Nobody said it would be easy, but it is worth it, worth the time you pour into your child, worth the time you spend with your child, worth the lessons you teach your child, worth the books you read with your child, worth the conversations you have with your child. They are only little for such a short time, they are worth every moment ...........not just during the Holidays or a special occasion, but every. single. day.

Also, with a S.A.S.E. the character will write back if you wanted to engage them in literacy, build communication skills and let their imaginations soar. We would love to hear from them!

A short 15 years ago the characters earned a National promising Practice Award and today, my passion, my heart and my determination to make a difference in the life of a child continues to grow. I call it my Ph.d.

I was just thinking.................

Blog to support building a positive mindset.

Blog to encourage good character with certificates of achievement.
