Rinki started her cybersecurity career in the early days of the web at Walmart before most people knew what cyber security was. Since then, she’s seen dramatic changes in our digital world– including the increased adoption of cloud security, use of a zero trust architecture, and the introduction and evolution of AI.
“In the security world, we’ve been using AI in our technologies and tools for forever. But recently, there’s been a massive movement. Generative AI has been the big buzzword of the year.”
Rinki added, “Hype aside, I think you have to embrace AI because companies are going to move forward using it. So, how do you do this safely and securely?”

Responsibly. The thoughtful use of AI is critical. It’s important to ask important questions like how can AI drive efficiencies? How can it stop fraud? What guardrails should be put in place to make sure it’s managed correctly?
Although some of Rinki’s peers have taken a hard stance against using AI, she believes that blocking it can hinder business and put you behind attackers. “Generative AI has put AI in the forefront. We’re going to see much more about how it transforms the security industry," said Rinki.
