Embracing the Present: The Ultimate Power Move
Ever notice how, despite our best intentions, we keep replaying old stories in our minds?
One moment we’re cruising through the day, feeling good, and then—bam!—a memory from the past sneaks in, rattling our peace. It’s as if our brains are hosting a never-ending film festival of regret, worry, anxiety, fear.. etc.. pulling us away from the only real show that matters: the present moment. But what if we could hit pause on that film festival and redirect our focus back to the present?
What if we could train our minds to let go of the past and future, and fully embrace the now?
It is important to first be aware of these thoughts live in the moment when they happen (by a feeling, this is an alert of what level of thinking you're having that's all), challenge the thoughts and beliefs, in order to create new possibilities for ourselves..
By acknowledging that change is possible, it offers hope for living a life on your terms. Taking proactive steps towards breaking the cycle of negative patterns can lead to significant improvements in our lives. By actively with intention, working towards creating a more positive and fulfilling life for ourselves, we can open up new possibilities and experience life in a more peaceful way.
Embracing change and being willing to put in the effort to make positive changes can bring about new opportunities and a sense of empowerment. Ultimately, by being proactive and committed to improving your life, we can cultivate a life that is aligned with our values and aspirations.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” Einstein
We all act from our current state of consciousness, awareness or level of understanding.
Our behaviors can be compared to a distorted reflection in our own funhouse mirror - unsteady, distorted, and somewhat absurd at time. It seems like we are navigating through life blindly, making decisions without much thought. However, we are providing some amusement for those around us, so why not embrace the unpredictability and make some daring choices that may seem baffling later on?

When we see our thoughts, they no longer hold power over us.
By becoming a little more conscious and aware of the moment you’re living in, old programming and conditioning can be unlearned and new ones can be learned. With greater consciousness disempowering thoughts or automatic negative thoughts loose their power over us. Suddenly, you see thought for what it is, a gift we were given to experience life with and there's an opportunity to mold your experience to how you want to experience every moment, the highs and the lows. The shift is subtle, but once you feel it, it’s like discovering a secret passage in your own story.
Feelings are like survival mechanisms. They are our inner protectors. As they see it, they are doing their job to keep us alive as best they can, away from anything threatening or even uncomfortable.
Sure, the mind, the ego, the saboteurs (just a few common names we call that inner voice) will try their old tricks now and then—whispering, “Remember when…?” or “What if…?”—but each time you anchor yourself in the present, you’re preparing for the next “then” that comes around. You’re less likely to play the same old scenes of fear-based thinking or anger because you’re showing up as the you that actually exists in this moment.
Challenges in life arise from our internal thoughts, not from things that occur externally.
At the heart of it, the power of now isn't about banishing regret or rewriting your past. It's about recognizing that regret, fear, anxiety, worry, and stress in itself is an imaginary chain, forged in thought, not reality. Reality is simpler, quieter, and kinder than we often realize. It's your current breath, your current choice, your current opportunity to see things differently.
