1. What is your role at UM?
I am the Senior Project Manager in the Sonar Segment supporting the Royal Australian Navy’s Air Warfare Destroyers.
2. How long have you been with the company?
I have been with Ultra Maritime for just over 17 months.
3. What’s your team like?
I have a small but dedicated team of engineers who focus on delivering what we promised to our customers. I also have great support from Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Security and Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) personnel.
4. Why does what we do matter?
We provided one of the critical supports to the Royal Australian Navy to ensure that our end users have what’s needed to complete their mission successfully.
5. Tell us about a professional success story that you’re proud of.
In my previous role, I managed a program to successfully deliver Search and Rescue capability (UNI-PAC III) to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF)’s P-8A Poseidon fleet. The UNI-PAC III, the first of its kind, was successfully introduced into RAAF service in August 2021 and has been adopted by the US Navy and other P-8A operators. The work on the UNIPAC III was recognized with the US SAFE Associations 2021 Team Achievement Award.
6. What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?
Work hard to continuously improve yourself but focus on the team’s objectives.
