Employees never have to apologize for having a life.
Take a #$@&%*! break!
As we all wrap up for the weekend, there's some people on here, especially the hyper-driven entrepreneur/intrapreneur crowd who don't shut off over the weekend. These are the hustle 24/7, 5am crew, #tgimonday, work junkies.
But wait...
Let's take a look at the back half of your Friday afternoon.
Do you find yourself looking at your phone, grabbing coffee / water every hour, browsing articles on the internet, checking your social media?
If you aren't 100% focused on the task at hand, it's a strong sign that your body is stretched to its limits.
It's great to put in some work over the weekend if you're actually productive.
The issue... when you try and put in the work over the weekend and you're already burnt out from the week.
Stop.
Unwind.
Relax.
Unplug.
Shut off your computer.
Don't check your emails.
Put your phone on silent.
Spend time with your family.
Pick up a hobby.
Go get some fresh air.
By grinding it out over the entire weekend, you could end up hurting your productivity for the upcoming week.
Disengage and remove yourself, allowing your mind to recharge and refresh.
If you're hitting walls, it's a good sign that an extended break is necessary.
Take a day and hit the work fresh on Monday.
Trust me, it will still be there.
