About Employment

Henry Ford had a vision to manufacture cars faster. He converted his goal into an operating model by translating it into a massive set of interconnected small tasks requiring little or no thinking.

That's how we invented employment during the Industrial Revolution.

Even today, our employers demand one standardized skill from us, which doesn't require much thinking. Thus, they keep us replaceable so the business can continue without disruption even without us.

On the other hand, we, the employees, work very hard and try to make ourselves irreplaceable with the hope of having better job security.

It's an unstable equilibrium.

Perfect description for employment life.
