Endarō mahānubhāvulu andarīki vandanamulu : SHRI SATHGURU SADHASHIVA BRAHMENDRAR
PART I:
The moment we listen to the song “Maanasa sanchara rey, brahmani maanasa sanchara rey…” we are reminded of the loveable and melody-filled lyrics(creative) and its creator, viz., Sathguru Sadhashiva Brahmendrar, an ever-guiding spiritual or Maanaseeka Guru for many.
Those who are into Carnatic music zone are sure of knowing and listening the divine krithis of Sathguru Sadhasiva Brahmendrar and Shri Venkatesa Ayyaval. Growing up in a village on the banks of the Cauvery, Swamiji was a most gifted student. One day He was taunted by His guru for His talkativeness. On that day He took a vow of silence and He kept it up for the rest of his life which he spent as an avadhootha sanyasi. In His wanderings He is said to have performed many miracles which were just an overflowing of the compassion He had for all humanity. His mind was always immersed in the Absolute brahman.
It was Venkatesa Ayyaval who broke Shri Sathguru’s silence, maybe once or twice. During his discipleship days Sathguru used to sing bhajans nicely. Ayyaval reminded Him of those good old days and implored Him to sing again for the benefit of the people who would certainly enjoy listening to His songs. Then came some wonderful songs, all of them having the theme of ‘The Experience of the Bliss of remaining in the “Absolute Brahman”, “Brahmisthithi” as it is variously called in the Bhagavath Gita.
HIS songs are being rendered in many Carnatic stages and the audience are experiencing blissful divine experience. One of such krithis, “Maanasa sanchara rey, “(hey mind ! dwell on Brahman…)” has been screened at Telugu film Sankarabharanam sung by Vani Jairam & SPB, and you can ask for the divine experience while listening to such songs. Yes, No one will miss the elevating moods that they generate, forgetting the language or meaning in which it has been written, while listening and singing. Some of the other krithis of Shri Sadhasiva are: “Chinthaa naasthi kilaa”(they have no worries…), “Sarvam brahma mayam, rey rey sarvam brahma mayam, …”etc. with each one of them bearing the stamp of capsule of the bliss of brahman that the great Siddhapurusha had enough to spare for others.

PART II:
A few miracle-stories that happened during Sathguru’s life that have been catalogued by no less a person than the famous Sankaracharya of Sringeri himself may be cited:
Swamiji was seen by a few kids@Mahadhanapuram @banks of the Cauvery. They requested Swamiji to take them to the religious fairs in Madurai(that time annual festival was going on). The sage perhaps felt an overflow of compassion for them. He asked them to close their eyes and in no time they were in Madurai. They had darsan of the Lord and the Goddess. They feasted at the festivities and in due time before it was night they were back in Mahadanapuram on the same banks of the Cauvery. The parents of the children would not believe the stories but their graphic description of the Madurai festivities right to the last detail baffled them. They came running to see the sage @the Cauvery banks but He was not there.
Sathguru was sitting in trance on the sands of Kodumudi River. Suddenly water flowed down in a flood and the river was flooded for the next few months. Onlookers did see water submerge Him as He was still sitting in His trance. He was given up as drowned. But three months later when the floods subsided fully, He was still there in the same trance posture; He just rose up and walked away. Etc.
Spiritual Masters, with their higher levels of consciousness, activate the spiritual potential of the disciples. The teachings of enlightened masters and Avtars are the everlasting treasures on Earth. Some of those who visit even casually to holy sthals use to feel that many of such places are capable of bestowing immense peace and positive vibration. One such place is the Adishtanam (Jeeva Samadhi) of Satguru Sri Sadhashiva Brahmendrar in Nerur ,located in a Oasis of Cauvery River Bank -near Karur in TN. The Cauvery river flowing towards south is a significant feature here. Nerur is such a place where not only people from Tamil Nadu pay a devoted visit but pilgrims from various other states are also visiting.
