Australia / Financial Close for a 250 MW solar farm

ENGIE has reached Financial Close for the Goorambat East Solar Farm project in northern Victoria. The project involves the construction, commissioning and operation of a 250 MW solar farm. Once completed, the solar farm could generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 105,000 average Victorian homes, helping to bolster energy security in the state. This project will create approximately 250 new jobs during the construction phase and a community benefit fund designed to deliver long-term benefits to Goorambat and surrounding communities. Commissioning is planned for 2026 and will contribute to our commitment to supply 3 GW of renewable energy in Australia by 2030.

Australia / ENGIE contributes to Coca-Cola Europacific Partners' move towards net zero

ENGIE and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) have signed a new Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) to meet CCEP's target of using 100% renewable electricity across its Australian operations by 1 January 2025. The 10-year agreement with ENGIE GEMS will provide CCEP with the remaining energy required to meet its RE100 commitment, an important step in the company's journey to net zero. This agreement is an excellent demonstration of cross-sector collaboration to achieve a common goal and will enable CCEP to reach its target 1 year ahead.

Spain / ENGIE supports Carrefour's energy transition and its renewable energy target.

ENGIE and Carrefour have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), reinforcing Carrefour's consumption of electricity from renewable sources. The energy supply will come from 4 ENGIE assets (2 wind farms and 2 solar farms), representing around 180 GWh/year. This contract will contribute to achieving the objectives set out in Carrefour's 2026 strategic plan, and will reinforce ENGIE's leading position in the PPA market. With sales of 2.4 GW of green electricity to industry and large energy consumers in 2023, ENGIE became the largest developer of renewable projects aimed at businesses.

Brazil / ENGIE's largest wind farm begins operations

The ENGIE Brasil Energia’s Serra do Assuruá Wind Complex, state of Bahia, is now operating commercially. The first 15 generator units began commercial operations. This initial commercial activity represents 8% of the total installed capacity. The Serra Assuruá Complex is to comprise 24 wind farms, with 188 wind turbines and a total installed capacity of 846 MW when complete. This is the fourth wind complex in the state of Bahia where ENGIE is already surpassing a combined 1 GW of installed power. The beginning of commercial operations ahead of schedule at Serra do Assuruá is a milestone in the implementation of one of the largest wind energy projects ever constructed in a single phase by the ENGIE Group in Brazil and the world. Commissioning is expected before the end of 2025.

Europe & Americas / ENGIE supports Danone to further accelerate decarbonisation of its factories

ENGIE signed a Joint Business Development Plan with Danone to accelerate the decarbonisation of the company’s plants. Renewable energy sources will replace fossil fuels in the production of on-site heat and steam for use in the plants' industrial processes in Europe and Americas. The partnership covers an initial batch of 13 priority plants in 7 countries: France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Poland, United States and Mexico. ENGIE will support Danone  to establish an optimal roadmap and implement tailor-made solutions, adapted to the specific needs of each plant. Danone and ENGIE already signed an agreement for the design, construction and installation of an innovative biomass boiler room at the Steenvoorde plant in northern France, scheduled for completion in June 2025.

France /  Successful GOCO2 Calls For Expressions of Interest to decarbonise industry

As part of their commitment to the energy transition, Elengy and GRTgaz launched their call for expressions of interest with a view to developing, respectively, a CO2 transmission network and a CO2 liquefaction and export terminal at the Montoir-de-Bretagne LNG terminal. Three historical CO2 emitters, partners in the GOCO2 project, and two new industrial companies, future users of this CO2, have committed to the development of GOCO2 by 2030. These results confirm industry's need for a CO2 transport, liquefaction and export infrastructure in the Greater West of France. Building on this success, GRTgaz and Elengy have announced the launch of their feasibility studies.
