This week let’s celebrate Mental Health. October 10th across the world is celebrated as World Mental Health Day 

There’s a significant need for mental health awareness and advocacy. 

  • 970 million people around the world struggle with some mental illness. 
  • 1 in 4 people will be affected by a mental illness at some point in their lives. 
  • Depression affects more people than any other mental disorder.

First, let’s answer the question that is running through your mind. Why are we talking about mental health?

Firstly it is important and secondly with so many disturbances happening around the world :(

  • Countries at war
  • Firings and hirings
  • Competitions and comparisons

we need to take care of our loved ones in whatever way we can. Boundaries

So let’s get back to how can we celebrate or honor World Mental Health Day and our mental health

  1. Get involved- educate yourself and the people around you. Support and volunteer
  2. Connect & check- if someone you know is struggling, help them feel heard or seen
  3. Influence your peers- encourage people to take care- mentally, physically, spiritually

Now the bigger question is- do you prioritise your well-being? Start & stick with these simple things 

- Eat and drink for body-mind wellness

- Get quality sleep

- Move your body

- Practice relaxation techniques

- Set healthy boundaries
