Ever wonder what you’re missing in Scotland?
The land of highlands with craggy ridges, windswept hillsides (moors) and picturesque fishing villages that cling to the shoreline cliffs. Famous for kilts made in the design of the family tartan, bagpipes, haggis, Highland cows with short legs, castles, battles, Mary Queen of Scots, and home to the first Golf Course in St Andrews.
The country is known for it’s rugged beauty and natural ability to captivate the visitor. Scotland is such a unique combination of farms that have hundreds of years of family history, thatched roofs, a landscape that is marked by low rock walls like a patchwork quilt, stone castle fortresses that have stood for centuries against enemies near and far, and cities that are bustling, with manufacturing and international calibre education, not to forget… the meeting place of Prince William and Princess Catherine!
Our amazing itinerary will capture the imagination of all those who have wanted to feel like they are going back in time, or maybe discover their roots, or who have always wanted to have a Scottish accent!
The 10 day tour commences in Glasgow with a bagpipe demonstration (and lesson if you wish) during dinner. Then, meander through the Loch Lomond National park with a boat ride on the lake and many stops along the way. Explore Eilean Donan Castle, a fully restored 13th Century castle before heading to the Isle of Skye.
The land of Scotland has many rivers, valleys and lakes (lochs) carved from ancient glaciers which you will see in abundance as you continue north to Urquhart Castle, overlooking Loch Ness. You will spend two nights in this northern city of Thurso, the northernmost town on the British mainland. And to visit Scotland, one must continue north to visit at least one of the 70 Orkney Islands recognized for the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Neolithic stone circle, the rookeries of puffins, seal rocks and 12th century Viking drawings.
Then, the road returns you south to visit the capital city of Edinburgh with an overnight stop in Aviemore. En route you will visit Dunrobin Castle, the Culloden Battlefield (and the story behind BraveHeart), Scotland’s smallest distillery of Edradour and the historic Stirling Castle!
Don’t let this tour leave you behind!
