Everyday is an Interview

How did you show up today?  Were you on point?  Did you operate as if you were being watched?  How did you dress?  Did you slack off or were you focused all day?  What about your lunch conversations?  Were you friendly or were you short?

You may not realize it, but you're being interviewed every single day.  

Sure, the role may not be posted yet.  In fact, the role may not even exist today.  

But still, today, you were being interviewed.  

You may not even know what role you're interested in.  

You may not even know why you're interested in that future role. 

But that role, when it becomes available, you will have already interviewed for that role.  

Each day you walk into your office, you're on a job interview.  

The reality is that every action, interaction, and accomplishment within your job contributes to your professional reputation and potential future opportunities.

Within the confines of your current role, you are constantly showcasing your skills, expertise, and work ethic. Your performance and attitude become a reflection of your capabilities and dedication to excellence. Whether you realize it or not, you are being observed by colleagues, supervisors, and even higher-level executives who may have a say in your future advancement or recommend you for new opportunities.

Your day-to-day tasks, projects, and collaborations are like mini-interviews, providing insights into your abilities, problem-solving skills, and how well you work within a team. The quality of your work, your ability to meet deadlines, and your willingness to go the extra mile all contribute to the overall impression you make.

Moreover, your interactions and relationships with colleagues are vital aspects of this continuous interview process. How you communicate, collaborate, and support others speaks volumes about your interpersonal skills and your ability to be a valuable team player. Your reputation for reliability, trustworthiness, and professionalism can open doors to new challenges and positions within or outside your current organization.

Every achievement or successful project becomes a testament to your capabilities.
