"Everything in life is vibration"-Einstein

As per what Einstein says, if everything in life is a vibration, how are these vibrations caused and what stops them? We know everything in life is not a vibration so I immediately move to a theoretical existence where only vibrations exist. If there is only vibrations then there must exist a set of rules that govern how these vibrations behave when they interact: the standard null set aka no interaction, arithmetic interaction(plus/minus), geometric interaction(multiply/divide), exponential interaction. Most likely these vibrations will behave much akin to the waves we experience which are well defined and understood. In the case of signal interference when two signal waves exactly match they amplify while an offset of half a wavelength causes dampening.

If two vibration interacted in the perfect manner it could be imagined that both are “stopped.” What causes vibrations? In our universe it is understood that the motion of particles cause vibrations, a universe of only vibrations would be caused by the slow assembly of smaller and smaller vibrations as they traveled and interacted. Imagine if the interaction of two vibrations could not only generate one new vibration but a multitude that spread in infinite direction to interact with other vibrations.

Vibration is not just any movement of atoms or molecules. It is a simultaneous, coherent movement, which does not happen at any given time in all kinds of matter. Vibrations exist primarily in solids, which have crystalline microstructure and their interatomic bonds are strong enough to support forces which make atoms move like on a string. Another condition is, that there is periodicity in the crystal lattice, which makes some frequencies of such motion sustainable, while others are quickly dampened. For vibration to start, there must be an external force to the object that causes it. It can be in a form of single blow of a hammer or periodically repeating, like a sound wave.

The vibration stops when the energy changes to incoherent movement of atoms in the lattice, thus increasing temperature (internal energy) of the object or when energy is sent away from it in the form of sound wave. The particles on subatomic levels do not vibrate in classical mechanical sense, so you can’t speak about changes in their states as the same phenomenon. Physicists have proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that matter can be converted to energy. E = m * C * C. This energy is beyond our five senses and so is incomprehensible.

Sometime in the last century, physicists did an experiment called as the double slit experiment. This experiment consisted of a source of light, say a burning bulb, a screen with two narrow parallel slits placed fairly close together and a screen behind this double slit that is photo sensitive. When the light waves passed through the double slits and hit the photo sensitive screen, it created an interference pattern of alternate dark and bright lines instead of just two bright lines corresponding to the two slits, as the physicists would have expected.

This baffled them and they inferred and intuited that light waves can behave as a wave as well as, as a particle. Wave implies, it flows much like water would flow through the double slits. Later during the century, the quantum physicists repeated the same experiment with an electron gun in place of the burning bulb, firing a single electron at a time. They expected to see just two bright lines on the photo sensitive screen but what they found confounded them completely! They observed the same interference pattern on the photo sensitive screen, clearly showing that the electron is not a particle after all, but is a wave.

Wave implies that the electron could be made of finer particles that disperse and go through both the slits at the same time much like water wave, and create the interference pattern. The funny twist was, when they put a sensor behind the double slits, the electron behaved likes particles and created just two bright lines on the photo sensitive screen. There is absolutely no explanation for this nature’s joke! It is making the electron look like a particle when the scientist puts a sensor behind the double slit, just to make him happy and at all other times the electrons behave like wave. This shows clearly that there is no such thing called as solid matter. This universe is merely a probability wave. Cheers!
