Excellent Engineers at Churchill
Hello, and welcome to our June edition of Churchill College News!
This month we speak with some of our postgraduate engineers to find out who and what inspired them - their research, covering areas from brain imaging to aerospace, reflects how engineering touches on so many aspects of our lives. We're also getting ready to host more summer schools and experiences over the long vacation, such as the Sustainable Urban Futures residential, where we hope to inspire the next generation of engineers!
Plus meet a 4th year Engineering student whose summer project helped Churchill reduce food waste, and other quick links to slices of College life.
This is a just a snippet of our recent news and views. Visit Churchill College website for more updates, stories and events.
Meet Miruna
Miruna is in the first year of her PhD in Future Propulsion and Power at the College, following a year of working in the Whittle Laboratory and an MRes in the same field. Her interest in aerospace engineering was sparked by her first flight on a plane (on the way to an admissions interview at Cambridge!), igniting an enduring passion.
Meet Sruthi
Sruthis is in the final year of her PhD in Electrical Engineering at Churchill, researching computational methods for brain imaging. Sruthi is also one of the Academic Officers on the College’s MCR committee (the student body for postgrads at Churchill) and has organised events ranging from ‘Pints of Churchill’ to the Conference on Everything. She shares her love of the creativity involved in solving engineering challenges.
