Taylor & Francis’ pledge to open initiative 🌍

Taylor & Francis Group has completed the first year of its Pledge to Open pilot, which has led to the publication of 26 open access (OA) books on global topics such as climate change, mental health, and women’s rights. The pilot, launched in July 2023, allows books to be published without requiring authors to secure funding for OA charges.

This year, support from 24 institutions across North America, Australasia, and Europe has enabled this outcome. A list of the published titles is available on the Taylor & Francis website. A second year of the initiative will begin in September, with a revised model based on feedback received.
