Exploring the Power of Journaling
Having had the privilege of reading "My Watch" by President Olusegun Obasanjo and visiting the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, I couldn't help but notice a recurring theme – the art of journaling.
President Obasanjo possesses a unique gift for documenting his experiences, a talent that often goes unappreciated by many of us. As Chinua Achebe wisely said, "Until the lions have their historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter" (22 March 2013).
Let's take a moment to reflect on the events of 2013 – the Cash Crunch, Hyperinflation, Elections, Subsidy removal, Supreme Court decisions, and much more. How many of us captured the spectacle in our journals? Did we document our environment, our responses, and the dynamics of the people around us?
Journaling offers us a powerful tool to preserve our perspectives and insights, providing a unique lens through which we can revisit our personal history. As we navigate the complexities of life, let's embrace the habit of journaling, ensuring that our stories, like President Obasanjo's, find their place in the narrative of our own journey. 📖✨ #Journaling #PersonalReflections #PreservingHistory
