The weekend after Thanksgiving, Ravenswood experienced Small Business Saturday in a memorable way: the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce offered the “Holly Jolly Trolley” to transport people along a route featuring local shops, ranging from retail stores to distilleries.

The Chicago Sun Times profiled the event, highlighting the benefit of bringing visitors to the Ravenswood community and its small businesses. The “Holly Jolly Trolley” is a great example of an economic development initiative to boost local spending around the holidays.

However, Ravenswood has a vibrant business ecosystem year-round! As the Research Center at World Business Chicago builds out our Community Snapshots, we thought it helpful to share a broad business overview of the Ravenswood local consumer base, workforce, and business ecosystem.
