As the National Chair of the Canadian Bar Association's Immigration Section, even I was taken back by what IRCC just did. 127,332 invitations extended to candidates in the Canadian Experience Class with CRS scores as low as 75. What an amazing early Valentine's Day gift to ponder during a long weekend.

I have been live streaming all day on my Canadian Immigration Institute YouTube Channel and the response to this surprise draw has been one of astonishment and almost disbelief. However, in recent meetings I have attended with the Immigration Minister and his staff, as well as politicians, and within IRCC, we could see something like this coming. After all, how in the world could you meet targets of 401,000 immigrants this year without taking drastic measures such as this.

Because I am a better speaker than I am writer, I encourage you to watch this short video that explains just what happened, why it happened and what the future holders for candidates in Canada, outside Canada and even the impact this is going to have on the PNPs. These are truly uncharted waters.
