Let’s start with a scenario that many of us in a workplace market face: you’re presented with two project opportunities, or even perhaps the same but within different competing companies, you will be offered the same salary, responsibilities and location. What makes you choose between the two proposals? The answer is: the one that presents you the best work environment.

 The workplace market is changing, we can finally say that money is not everything. The cheerful work environment, friendly co-workers, a company that allows you a flexible schedule in case of family emergencies or something as simple as picking up your mom and dad at the airport; for some people there is no amount of money that compensates losing these moments.

 This happiness guarantees us risk control (worker will advise us when he receives an interesting outside proposal worth considering), long-term placements (there’s an inferior risk of losing positions as there are less situations where a worker decides to leave for another project), and many other benefits.

I maximized the potential of the position by joining a hybrid mix of responsibilities from marketing to controlling and HR. This is how i break them down:

 Marketing

  • Internal communications: management of emails and website content, newsletter editor;
  • External communications: press, radio shows, magazine articles, television shows, guest participant at lectures;
  • Corporate contacts: job fairs, associations, universities, polytechnics, others;
  • Management of B2B protocols;
  • Management of social networks;
  • Management of contacts and work developed by the communication agency.

 Events organization

  • Production of company events:
  • Monthly meetups: concept, place, catering, invites;
  • Bi-monthly draws, contests, hobby meetups;
  • Rentrée: organized to join together all company workers (transport logistics, accommodation, etc);
  • Company Christmas Party;
  • Friday open lunches.
  • Event satisfaction surveys;
  • Promote “Bring Company Up”: collection of suggestions by our colleagues to improve our events, trainings, and others;
  • Management of all company hobbies:
  • Manager and frontman of the company band (“AubayóRacha”: it’s a name allusive to a traditional Porto expression “ou bai ou racha” that means either it’s going to go well or it’s going to be chaos)

Controlling

  • Management of non-operational budgets: merchandising, stationary, events, materials.

 Human Resources

  • Management of extra-salary benefits / social help inside and outside the company;
  • Continuous suggestion of ideas on how to standardize the management of fringe benefits and emotional support to all our colleagues;
  • Operational management;
  • Welcome Process: receiving and presenting the company to new colleagues;
  • Birthday cards: manage and communicate the monthly birthday dates to the business managers, ask for present cards, distribute them and control their final delivery;
  • Company employee anniversary cards: manage and communicate the dates to the business managers, distribute cards and control their delivery.

 Now I ask, wouldn’t you be happy working in a company that takes care of you and thinks about the small details? We all know that words can only leave the abstract realm when they’re supported by actions – and that’s what my Happiness Manager’s objective is.

 Most of companies have the same “we will support you” speech so why don't build a distinguished reputation in the market as a company that follows-through with its workplace promises.

Now..i've showed you the What. If you're strugglling with the How...reach me. I can help you with that =)
