Face It To Fix It

Face It To Fix It

You have to face it before you can fix it. This statement is a simple and basic truth. Makes sense, sounds good, and sure, this is a no brainer. If this is such a basic truth, what holds a good number people back from confronting whatever it is that is holding them back? What could possibly be so strong where we refuse or have the inability to deal with situations in life preventing a full realization of our goals and aspirations? Plain and simple, as long as we turn a blind eye or continue to push the can forward, we are only putting off and allowing our potential great harm. It is easy to brush it off by saying that I will deal with this one day or some day, yet with this line of thinking, no day will line up exactly right to take the plunge. It will continue to build up and over time, the lack of confronting it will lead to regret. Instead of dealing with it right now, we are now saying I wish that I had dealt with it. Fortunately, there are consistent steps we can take to minimize or eliminate long term adverse consequences by Facing It and then Fixing It.

Acceptance of what has happened is the first step to overcoming the consequences of any misfortune.

William James

Accept that it is happening: it may seem unfair and absolutely and yes, this situation is happening at the worst possible time. When else is adversity going to appear? Just like an uninvited guest, you have company that is challenging your current status. There is no need to ignore the situation because once here, it will require your attention and any attempt to ignore will not cause anything to go away. You can neither wish nor will it away. Confront it so that you find a way to resolve and release it away. It will be uncomfortable and this explains one of the primary reasons many people try to ignore it and not immediately deal with it. Not so fast. By delaying your attention, you are simply allowing it to gain in strength and velocity. Increased energy does not cause something to stop; it becomes a force that leads to an unbearable or overwhelming feeling

The moment we replace worry for action is when we begin to take the necessary steps towards a solution.

Chris Adams

It is not going away. Left unresolved, it will become too much to handle. Like snow- flakes that develop into a blizzard, allowing something to fester only continues to give it strength. By looking at the situation as a whole, it does seem insurmountable. Break it down into small sections. Tackle a little of the project each day. It is much easier to write for 15 minutes a day rather than anxiously squeezing in an hour one time a week. A small dose of focused and consistent action will eventually get you down the path you are having to face so that you can effectively fix it.

The solution is within and begins with you. It is in you to transfer problems towards solutions

 Chris Adams

Recognize there is a solution: the reality is that all of us are going thru some sort of issue or situation. These are better known as problems. However, just as everything going up must come down, every problem has a correlating solution. It is up to our level of resilience to identify what the answer is to the particular question. This creates strength and adds character to our overall self which in turn adds confidence towards addressing the next set of challenges.

Your positive action combined with positive thinking results in success.

Accept where you are: you are in the exact place you should be in based on the decisions and choices you previously made. Just because you might be going thru a valley experience does not require that you stay. The choices you make right now has the necessary impact towards guiding progress in the direction you desire. Your positive attitude is going to be a key component towards making improvements. How you look at things is paramount towards how they actually turn out.

The best way to pay for a lovely moment is to enjoy it.

Richard Bach

Stay in the moment: embrace exactly where you stand. This moment has nothing to do with your past nor should it be burdened by the uncertainty of what might happen. Right here and Right now is all that matters. Enjoy it and take away the blessings and lessons this exact moment will provide you in your growth walk. Take those important moments to appreciate progress along the way. You will be pleasantly surprised at how far you have come and encouraged by how you got there. To be sure, you will not enjoy each moment; there will be times where you might want to skip over the moment and move towards something much more pleasant. The key is to remain engaged and present to bring the moment to the fullest possible conclusion. This moment will lead to another moment and another…..

Life is going to happen. The key is how we address what takes places with our thoughts and actions. We have to encourage the progress by confronting these things in a meaningful and positive way. By doing so, we gain confidence and invaluable lessons which can be applied towards future challenges. Stay encouraged and know that you are not alone. There are people and resources willing to provide a helping hand. However, we have to take the first steps and face it before it can be fully fixed.
