Faith In God
Written by Jason Haines
“Don’t be anxious about things; instead pray. Pray about everything. He longs to hear your request, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful what has come. And know that the peace of God (a peace that is beyond any and all of our human understanding) will stand over your hearts and minds in Jesus, the Anointed One.” -Philippians 4:6-7
In the past, and many of us do this, I thought and was taught to rely on myself and do everything myself. There is no one who will help you and to trust no one. But I have found that is not true, because God has always been there to help all of us, I just had to find him, because I was lost and didn’t trust in him. I mean how could I he did not give me what I wanted. Granted he had given me what I needed, but I wanted stuff I didn’t need, and I asked him to give me that stuff and he didn’t. Didn’t they say God would give you what you prayed for and wanted? Why wasn’t he giving me all I wanted?
The answer, God gives us what we need, when we need it if we have faith in him, trust in him, believe in him, that he will provide for us when we need it. It took a while, and I still make the mistake, that I am realizing this is true. God provides us with what we need when we need it. It is hard because we see all the things everyone has around us. Just spend time on social media and you will see just how bad your life is and that you are falling behind daily. Problem is, as a friend once told my wife and I, you can make your life look great on social media. Very much true and very much not the real world on there. And if that is the life you want to live then live it, I am not going to try and stop you because we all have a choice.

But I will not lie, I have been victim to the social media comparison jealousy war and made rash I need that now decisions so I could be just like the person I was comparing myself to. Or even did something, because I thought the person would be upset, done something against my better judgement just so the other person would be happy, and I would have to suffer the consequences in the end. Trying to compare ourselves and be like others will never make us happy because when we do, we will never be happy and joyful. There are so many great stories in the bible that are so enlightening, and all of us will take from them what we read and hear in them.
I used to think that God would hate me, not realizing that he loves me no matter what and wants me to return to him. I never knew what this meant because I was blinded by things that I wanted which caused me to miss out on the things I needed. I do not want to go back to that again and I hope to help others see the light that there is more to life than things. Things cost a person more than money. It cost me a lot.
I do not write these stories for anything other than to invite you to church with me and see the world from a different view. Regardless of whether we are in the same area or not, I invite you to church to maybe see things in a different light.
