FANRPAN Joins Partners in Launching CEA-FIRST: Advancing EU-AU Collaboration for Food Systems Transformation
The Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN), represented by Ms Sithembile Mwamakamba, Director of Policy Research and Analysis, joined the Forum for Agriculture Research in Africa (FARA) and partners in launching the ‘Consortium Europe-Africa on Research and Innovation for Food Systems Transformation’ (#CEA_FIRST) project in Tema, Ghana from 12-14 February.
FANRPAN is co-leading Work Package 3 on Strengthening Networking and Stakeholder Engagement and Work Package on Implementing IRC Functions through Stakeholder Engagement with the Finnish University Partnership for International Development (UniPID) at the University of Helsinki.
FANRPAN's comparative advantage is evident in its extensive network of stakeholders and expertise in policy analysis. These strengths position FANRPAN to contribute valuable insights that inform the project's activities, facilitating the translation of research outcomes into actionable policy recommendations at the regional level.
The inception meeting served as a pivotal moment in the journey of #CEA_FIRST, convening key stakeholders from both continents to chart a course for transformative research and innovation.
As #CEA_FIRST gains momentum, it promises to drive meaningful change in the FNSSA landscape. By fostering collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing across continents, #CEA_FIRST is poised to make a lasting impact on food security, agricultural sustainability, and economic development in both the African Union and the European Union, with FANRPAN playing a pivotal role in ensuring regional relevance and effectiveness.
