I run my own soft skills training franchise business in Tokyo and many years ago, I decided to dress for success. Each day I consult my schedule and that day's work content drives my sartorial choices. Before I head out the door every day, I check myself in the mirror and ask, "Do I look like one of the most professional people in my industry".

This day I had a early morning networking event at the Tokyo American Club, featuring a talk by my friend Elio Orsara. Elio is a legend, a very well known and successful entreprenuer and restauranteur, who started Elios Locanda almost thirty years ago in Hanzomon and which I have been frequenting since 2001, when I moved back to Tokyo from Osaka. I presented Elio with a signed copy of my new book "Japan Leadership mastery".

Following that I had a photo shoot at our Headquarters, as always, by my talented photographer Tia Haygood, to create material to promote my new book Japan Leadership Mastery and get some fresh headshots.

In the afternoon, I had an interview for my podcast Japan's Top Business Interviews with Roberto Pleitavino, the Japan President of Oris swiss watches. Following all of that back to see my wife in hospital following her shoulder surgery.

I needed to reproduce a headshot I have been using for quite a long time, which was taken by one of my team and now needs an update. So I chose the same outfit to make it look the same. Zegna Trofeo navy single breasted suit, side vents, flap pockets, notch lapels, double cuffs, over the calf blue socks, custom white shirt with French Cuffs, pink striped tie by Barneys New York tied with a double Windsor knot, with pink cufflinks. White linen, pink edged pocketsquare by Simonnot-Goddardin a reverse puff, silver corporate badge by Dale Carnegie, 24mm Cartier Tank Francaise watch with a black Ostrich leather strap. Mont Blanc black and gold pen, Lanvin business card holder. High shine, black, wingtip brogue Oxford shoes with a decorative medalion by Pollini.
