The Fastest Way To Long Term Weight Loss
It's an interesting headline, it's obviously made to draw your attention because you’re probably reading this as you need lose weight and you probably want it done as fast as possible. But unfortunately, when things are done in a rapid way it can be done the wrong way.
I know some of you have probably experienced this. You've gone on a fad diet or a crazy diet or a really super hard diet and you've lost weight. Whether it be going on shakes or intermittent fasting, because you can lose weight fast with those type of diets, but is it for the long term? Does it last?
For most of you, it doesn't. So in a way that those things are fast, but they're not sustainable. They don't last. So what's the point in doing that, unless you're going to a bodybuilding contest or you're shredding for a particular photoshoot, for a wedding or a special event. But if we're talking long term, and for most of us as Dads, we want our excess weight to vanish and to be a healthy weight until we die, so that we can have more energy for our kids, to look better about ourselves. We've had enough, we've lived long enough to stop feeling sorry about ourselves.
We need to do something about it, so what do we need to do?
How do we find the shortest way?
If these rapid weight loss programs and diets aren't sustainable? What's the best option?.
In all areas of life, not just weight loss, with relationships, with business, with your finances, whatever it may be, there are people out there that are one step ahead of you. They've been there, they've done that and they're successful in achieving that.
In this instance, we're talking about weight loss. Who do you know that has lost weight or maintained a healthy weight as a busy Dad that you can turn to for help?
If you don’t have anyone, you have to find someone else. Because that person has been there and done that, they know what to do, they've endured the challenges and come through the other side successful. So by you using their success, and for them teaching you their success, it's going to get you to the fastest way possible to lose weight.
There's so much trial and error that can happen with weight loss. There's a lot of frustrations that can happen, there's a lot of forward and backward progress because you don't have someone that's guiding you the way or you don't have a proven and successful way to follow. That's what’s going to give you the fastest way possible. Because we want weight loss to be quite a straight line from start to finish.
But a lot of busy overweight Dads are doing it on their own or aren't following the right way or don't know what to do, they're still trying to YouTube and Google it. What that does is it wastes time. Can you afford to waste any more time to lose that weight and your health? Because that’s super important too.
You're getting into your 30s, your 40s, your 50s, to your later stage of life and that's when your body can't take as much as it used to. There’s Dads that have diabetes, high blood pressure, high risk of heart disease, because their family members previously had heart attacks and strokes and other health issues, so their risk is a lot higher now because they are creeping closer to that age. Your body is wearing out more. It’s not going to last forever. But you need to do something about it and you need to get there the quickest way possible to stop that from happening.
If I told you next week, if you don't do anything about your health, that next week, you're going to have a heart attack. Are you going to do something about it?
Of course you are, because your level of health risk is imminent. But what's stopping you from doing it now? Are you just ignoring it? You don't know what's going happen to you around the corner, yet you may be thinking, “I'll just keep trying to do it on my own. I'll keep doing it this way and that way” and it’s still not working.

My suggestion to you is find someone you know, that's been there and done that and can help you. If you don't have someone you know, then reach out and ask for another friend reach out through your network.
Your other option is to hire a coach. Find a coach that is suited to you. One that you align with, that you know and trust is going to help you out.
To give you a real life example, I've had clients come to me that have tried to do it on their own for six months or even 1-2 years, and it didn't work for them. So they came to me and admitted they has wasted all this time trying on their own, trying to save some money. I do understand that, but if it's really important enough, the fastest way, is by getting someone with the right experience and knowledge alongside you.
Sometimes if it's someone that you know, if it's a friend that has been there and done that, they still might not be the right person. Why? Because they have busy lives too. We all have busy lives. If they get caught up in their busy life and they forget about you, where's the support and accountability that you need? It may not be there, you might have a great friend that does do that. That's great. Go for it. But then there's some that get caught up in their own lives and they're not checking in on you. They're not giving you the guidance, support and accountability you need and you just fall back to where you were.
When you go with someone that's a professional and that’s a 3rd party that you've invested in, it's in their interest and your interests to keep on track, because you've invested that time and that money as well. So sometimes having a professional to help you along the way is going to be better than a friend, because you know that they're going to be there. If they are a proper coach or professional that cares, they're going to be there for you all the way and give you that expertise, support and accountability to make sure you succeed.
I don't want you to do all this trial and error BS. It’s a bit like a business coach for a business. If you're starting out your business, you're not sure what to do and you're not having any success, you should hire a business coach or mentor that has a successful business. Do you not think your business is going to soar to new heights because you're with that person and they are guiding you, supporting you and telling you what to do? Do you not think that your business is going to get to where it needs to be a lot faster than on your own, than failing and giving up?
So that's the same with weight loss. I'll give you another example, a personal one, when I started off bodybuilding I was 18. My Brother had a home gym, he did some exercise, but he didn't really know how to do it properly. He was my Brother, he was there for me but he didn't know what to do properly. So I started going to the gym, I didn't have any idea in the first year and then I had someone from my University who was a successful bodybuilder. He had been there and done that. He did the dieting and the posing and all that was required. So he took me on board as a mentor and guided me as to what you should do in the gym and all the other things required to become a bodybuilder and it only took me a year before I was in a position to compete and place in my first bodybuilding contest. Because I had his help, I was able to fast track my progress because he gave me the information I needed and the guidance and support, otherwise I would have been stuck for years.
Eventually, in 2004, I won an Australian title in bodybuilding. Without his help I wouldn't have got to where I wanted to be.
So that's my call to action to you. If you are stuck where you are with your weight and you're sick and tired of trying to do it on your own and you want to get there as quick as possible in the straightest line possible, without all the frustrations and the up and down and going backwards, find someone that you can trust, that has your best interest in mind. Someone that's been there before, that's at least one step ahead of you. So that they can help you lose that unwanted fat. So they can help you take control your health. Then once you get there, you can be the person that helps another Dad that's trying to lose weight and that’s struggling.
That’s what I truly believe we should do in life, we should look up to someone one step ahead of us, then we should help someone one step below us. If we all do this together, life is going to be a lot easier.
