FBR Makes Paying Withholding Tax Easier with Online Challan System

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched a new online system that makes it easier for individuals and businesses to pay Withholding Tax. This system allows taxpayers to generate challans directly on the FBR's IRIS portal.

Here's how it works:

  1. Visit the IRIS Portal: Go to the FBR's website and access the IRIS portal. You don't need to log in to use this feature.
  2. Choose "Withholding Tax": Select "Withholding Tax" from the available options.
  3. Enter Details: Provide information like the taxpayer's name, CNIC, and the amount of tax to be withheld.
  4. Upload Documents (Optional): You can upload supporting documents like invoices if needed.
  5. Generate Challan: The system will create a unique challan for your payment.
  6. Make Payment: Pay the tax through online banking, mobile wallets, or at a bank branch.

Benefits of this new system:

  • Easy to use: The system is simple and user-friendly, even for those who are not tech-savvy.
  • Quick and efficient: Generate challans quickly and easily without visiting a tax office.
  • Convenient: Pay taxes anytime, anywhere, at your convenience.

This initiative by the FBR aims to make tax payments more convenient and efficient for taxpayers.
