February Round-up
The days are getting longer, fresh bulbs are sprouting, there’s even a bit of warmth in the sun. We can safely say, spring is in the air!
Here’s what we’ve been up to this month…
Improving Airflow and Reducing Trip Hazards for North Bristol NHS Trust
At the start of this month we released our latest case study. North Bristol were initially using our AIRQON HEPA-800 air filtration units and were pleased with their performance, but they were being used on a frailty pathway where there was a need to minimise potential trip hazards.
The Trust decided to upgrade to our AIRIAL-1000 ceiling mounted units. We delivered and installed the new air purification systems into their Elgar Enablement Unit and relocated the HEPA-800s to another area of the hospital where they were more suited to the space. The systems have been very well received and since completing the project, the Trust went on to place a second order of the air purification units.
“Our infection control team worked really hard to source the best products for us as an organisation and has been impressed by how we’ve been able to upgrade to the new units and reassign the mobile ones. The ceiling units are really important in the Elgar Unit because of the people that we’re looking after – we’re always looking for equipment to reduce obstacles that hinder safe mobility – so they are clearly much better for this environment.” Juliette Hughes, Deputy Chief Nurse

League of Friends present Trust with air purification funding
The League of Friends (LoF) of the Royal Shrewsbury hospital (RSH) gifted funding for valuable air purification units to the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH). The AIRQON COMBI-1200’s improve air quality and reduce the risk of HCAI’s.
SaTH also purchased AIRQON COMBI-1200’s and Inivos were pleased to be able to donate two units, one for each of the Trust’s hospitals.
Richard Steventon, Executive Chairman of the LoF said: “The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital League of Friends is pleased to have funded air infection filters for the RSH which are already in full use. They improve air quality, prevent outbreaks of viruses, reduce and dilute potential infections following an aerosol-generating procedure making the environment safer for the patients.
Many thanks to all those who have contributed to our funds with donations or volunteering support in our shops and at our fundraising event days”.
