It felt like I was dying
(And I still ignored them all)
In 2022, I was having a really tough time. I wasn’t sleeping well — I was waking up gasping for breath, so I went to see a doctor. 🩺
They looked inside my mouth. “Everything is physiologically okay,” they said. “Are you under any stress?”
And I laughed because, of course, I was REALLY stressed out. The doctor suggested I consider making some lifestyle changes. 🙄
A quick Google search will give you so many tips for short-term stress relief:
Go for a walk, meditate, work out, change your diet, buy a dog, etc.
I had way TOO MANY PROJECTS and NO TIME to do any of them, and I thought I could just power through it all again.
A few months later, my panic attacks got worse, and in a short period of time, I was having panic attacks at least once a week.
I was SCARED...
I always thought I didn’t get affected by STRESS.

This experience was a huge WAKE-UP CALL for me. It taught me that while my threshold for stress may be high,
I’M. STILL. HUMAN. 🫠
And just like everyone else, I can still get stressed to the point where it affects my life in very negative ways. 🫨
So, here's the deal. If you're feeling overwhelmed, it's crucial to listen to your body and mind. Ignoring stress doesn't make it go away—it only makes things WORSE.
Taking time to PAUSE, BREATHE, and RESET isn't a luxury; it's a necessity.
Remember, you DON'T have to go through it ALONE.

8moSame! I ignored all the signs of stressfor so long because it would mean I had to do things in a different way than I have done before. I would need to quiet my mind and actually be aware of my thoughts and actions. Truly, I was on auto-pilot. This is a great reminder about stress and how it affects our body!
