Ferme LeCoq is open for impact

Rewild your Time

I’m super happy to celebrate the opening of Ferme LeCoq - Nature Seminaire . It’s about realignment, (re)connection to oneself, to others and to nature.

Our promise is ‘Rewild Your Time’, an invitation to live more by kairos and less by chronos.

Ferme LeCoq, built in 1888 in Drumetz (commune of Attiches, Northern France)

Here at the farm where I live, I intend to ‘become’ the subject that I have been fascinated with for 4 years now, Regenerative Leadership. Regenerative Leadership is a style of leadership that is inspired from Nature’s wisdom. My belief is that there will be no shift to a regenerative economy without regenerative leadership, and for that leadership to be effective, it must be incarnated. Systemic change is a deeply personal topic and I feel that there are not enough spaces/places where this can be nurtured safely. So why not try and create one ?

Ferme LeCoq is on the edge of the Phalempin Forest, to the south of Lille (Northern France), in a sleepy hamlet called Drumetz. A place to unwind, de-connect to re-connect, develop creativity, ask yourself some good questions, and why not begin/continue your own journey to becoming a more regenerative leader.

Beginnings

The Ferme LeCoq project is a co-creation, the convergence of three visions becoming one.

Louis-Marie dumon (architect), Vianney Dehainault (creative director) and myself met in January 2024, and it quickly became obvious to co-create a place where people can ‘rewild their time’, a place to come together, a place to honour the past, live the present, and prepare the future.

Built in 1888, the farm has been in the careful hands of local farmers for four generations. We’ve taken care to preserve many aspects of the original Flemish farmhouse, re-vitalising the garden spaces with permaculture, planting noble trees, protecting the home of the swallows, whilst adding some flashes of modernity and eccentricity.

We're open for impact !

Prototyping

Over the summer ’24, we’ve been testing the promise (Rewild Your Time) with different groups of people. To pick a few...

  • LEMON AND PEPPER came to bring themselves down to earth and up to the moon (read Alex' testimony here).
  • An art therapy session was held, combining a forest walk with story-writing, personal painting and collective creations which are on display in the workshop (testimonies of Sabine and Laurance).
  • A sculpture session, expertly orchestrated by Sandra HALBRECQ-JACQZ 🌱 brought us back to our relationship with clay (earth), and how we can harness it to develop our creativity and self-belief.
  • A beautiful four day experiment with 14 of my dear siblings of the Regenerative Leadership community which gathered a year ago in Selgars Mill . Activities included dialogue walks in the forest, co-cooking, talking stick workshop, inner compass cards, using the Cards for Life, biodanza, revisiting what regenerative leadership means… and all that WITHOUT an agenda ;)

This place is one of a kind – an authentic place with room for new thoughts and new beginnings. You can tell and feel the big heart and the regenerative approach Charlie has immediately when you land at the Ferme Lecoq. Not the last time I go ! ❤️

Yep, the promise has been validated ! Thanks to all who have taken the time to confirm our convictions and direction, bringing more ideas and new questions to explore.

Take the time

Ferme LeCoq is available for groups of from 4 to 20 people who feel the need to de-connect to re-connect.

You can use the various spaces inside and outside for your connections, and our fabulous ecosystem can help you with organisation, facilitation, creative needs, catering etc.

I can also accompany groups for all their regenerative leadership needs/questions.

Check out the spaces here on the website : Ferme Lecoq spaces.

Constraints (not sure if that is the right word but hey...)

To remain coherent with our beliefs and intentions, there are a few constraints to get to grips with :

  • No heating in the barn (but a tonne of blankets).
  • No tables in U format (but tables available to make stuff, talk around and co-cook).
  • A present but unreliable wifi (but do you really need it ?).
  • Ideally, no more than 6 cars (come on, you know why ... however, we do have an electric car charging point!).

The invitation is to get outside and live with the elements rather than spend all day sat down. You'll be surprised by how fast time goes when you slow down !

Inspirations

A place like this didn’t just happen. It’s like a slow-burning catalytic reaction, very much the result of encounters, moments, emotions, trainings and inspirations over the last ten years. Ferme Lecoq wouldn’t have happened without these lovelies : my original sustainability mentors Isabelle GUYADER and Mylène Rahel Damamme ; Vision team members audrey hespel , Stephanie Fortin 🦋 and Axelle Kiers who encouraged me to follow Theory U training with Presencing Institute big-up Rachel Hentsch Spadafora ; Permaleader training with the man himself Thomas Breuzard ; several visits to the awe-inspiring Le Domaine du Présent - Céline Cado (@Celine Cado and David Le Glanaer ); the magnificent Selgars site stewarded by Anton Chernikov ; the ethereal Springwood and deep conversations with Giles Hutchins ; my bro Michaël V. Dandrieux , and of course … big thanks for the ‘real deal' Laura Storm from Regenerators . First as a guide, then peer, now friend.

Huge thanks to you all for giving me the sparks and the courage to make this place come alive :)

I look forwards to seeing you soon at Ferme LeCoq :)
