Ferox Strategies Celebrates Susie Saavedra of the National Urban League Washington Bureau

Ferox Strategies partnered with the National Urban League and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to honor Susie Saavedra, Vice President for Policy and Legislative Affairs at the National Urban League Washington Bureau. Saavedra's recent promotion to the position is the latest step of an exemplary 15-year health and education policymaking career on both Capitol Hill and in the non-profit sector, including stints as the president of the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA) and a governing board member of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). Several Washington leaders joined Ferox and the National Urban League in celebrating Saavedra, including Solidarity Strategies LLC, Insight Public Affairs, The Raben Group, D&P Creative Strategies, and the Madison Group.

A diverse group of private sector, non-profit, and government leaders and Capitol Hill staff attended the reception to congratulate Ms. Saavedra. Three former presidents of the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA) joined Saavedra, herself a former CHSA president, at her reception.

In the evening's speaking program, Ferox Strategies Principal Cristina Antelo explained that her ten-year friendship with Ms. Saavedra made throwing a celebration an easy decision. National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial gave keynote remarks, discussing the experience and expertise Saavedra brings to the Urban League's mission as the nation's largest civil rights organization. Antonio Tijerino, CEO and President of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, sent his own remarks noting the growing urgency and importance of Saavedra's work at the National Urban League Washington Bureau.
