Ferrari: Guilty or NOT Guilty?

Ferrari: Guilty or NOT Guilty?

USA GP 2019 wasn't just about Wrapping up the championship by Lewis hamilton, there was something else that was a Major thing and that was about Ferrari and Redbull Fight at the Technical Clarification.

Ferrari's Engine Legallity was The talking point in the whole 2019 season and After summer break all hell breaks loose and after Redbull request for technical Directive on Ferrari's Engine at USGP 2019, with Ferrari's lack of pace at the race everything apparently looks that Ferrari turn down the engine and make it legal and that was why they were so slow, BUT there is BIG BUT here, Austin Circuit is not a good place to make that accusation a clear statement, lets break down the situation in Austin:

Ferrari's Rivals says that they Think Ferrari has more than 50hp advantages in Engine Department but Ferrari says they only have 20 hp But when it combines with their aero efficient car this power looks massive.

What did Redbull say: Basically they said that Ferrari is Injecting an extra oil which is not being measured and then they went to FIA and said if this systems is allowed then we want to use it too. there wasn't any Evidence, Just theories. so they didn't Protest they just seek for clarification! if Ferrari had done this, they had to immediately drop it. Because the TD if prove to be right case it could cause a PROTEST and that's going to be nasty.

Ferrari in Austin:

1 - after an awfull one lap pace and longrun pace in FP1 and FP2 plus an awfull more tyre wear than Redbull and Mercedes they had to maximise downforce. so for make the tire works and have a good race pace they had to add downforce which cost them straight line speed, infact they used Mexico GP aero setup, at least it's looks like that when we look at the rear wing of the sf90.

2 - Charles Leclerc the only Ferrari in the race itself, used a Spec2 engine(Spa Engine) which had more Mileage, Fuel Consumption and Less Power. (bear in mind that if you use this old engine, most of the time you can't push that much hard) + charles didn't had any grip on the medium at the first stint. But he was good On the straight and didn't lose any time on it:

LEC at 321,5 km/h despite having no tow most of the time. In comparison HAM had only 317,6 km/h. VER and BOT despite tow only at 324,1 - 323,6 km/h. The acceleration duel from Turn 20 to the finish line was still won by LEC with 217.3 to 213.1 km/h (BOT) / 211,1 km/h (VER)

3- Sebastian Vettel who's been in the ideal ferrari, he had a suspension failure and he didn't end the race for us to have good picture of SF 90 Performance.

4- the point is Ferrari Rivals says that Ferrari use this Magic Power mode in Qualifying Laps and in the Start and Re-Start of the Race(laps with DRS Disable), the qualifying was close and Seb took cautious not to push to hard because he was in fear of he maybe exceed the track limits and then he's time would be deleted. so he didn't push that much hard, ferrari was strong in the qualifying but not with great margin, so that's for qualifying but what happened at the start, if we don't consider SEB for his problem, then we have to ask why Leclerc didn't gain any position!

the answer to that question is easy: Charles Didn't gain any position on the first lap because the run-up to the first corner was 231 meters long, like SPA, but in spa after first corner there is kemmel Straight and it's full throttle, Seb did lost a position to Lewis in first corner of the spa but he regain that position in Kemmel Straight but again there is a BIG BUT here and that is, in austin after first corner you have to pass 11 corners to meet with the First POWER sensitive part of the circuit, Leclerc and Vettel because of lacking grip they were too much behind to do anything on that power section, so austin didn't give us any answer and we have to wait for the Brazilian GP....
