Festive Fings to Write About. Content Ideas for LinkedIn on the First Week of December
How are you doing this week?
We’re officially in December!
Can you believe it? This time last year, Christmas felt a little different for our family. Debbie and I were navigating the festive season after the loss of her father, and it felt like everything was on pause.
For someone who lives for Christmas (she once had SEVEN Christmas trees up—yes, really!), it was a strange and subdued time.
But this year?
Debbie’s Christmas spirit is BACK, and it’s contagious! The trees are up (only two this year, but they’re looking awesome!), the lights are out, and the magic of the season has well and truly arrived in our house.
Seeing her smile and enjoy the little things makes me realise how much these moments matter.
So, what does this time of year mean to you?
Is it about family, slowing down, or just soaking up the fun of the season?
Let me know—I’d love to hear your stories.
And here is my Festive Video for this week!!
It took me ages so you better watch it!! And it's all Festive!!!

With everything happening this month, there’s so much inspiration around us. Here are five fresh ideas to get you creating on LinkedIn this week:
Five Festive Content Ideas to Light Up Your LinkedIn
1️⃣ Christmas Chocolates Are you all about the Quality Street or do you prefer something fancy? Take a poll, or share a memory of sneaking your favourite chocolate as a kid. (Maltesers from Celebrations, anyone?) Bonus: Relate it to your business—what’s the “sweet spot” for your clients?
2️⃣ Real vs. Fake Christmas Trees What’s your pick—real pine aroma or the convenience of an artificial tree? Share your setup or traditions (yes, kids helping can be an adventure!). Spark some debate and invite your audience to share their own tree tales.
3️⃣ Winter Breaks Jetting off for some winter sun or staying cosy at home this year? Share your December plans or favourite destinations. Whether it’s festive markets or January getaways, these stories connect on a personal level.
4️⃣ Christmas Cards Do you still send them? Digital, personalised, or handwritten, there’s something special about this tradition. Reflect on how you stay connected with loved ones or clients during the festive season. (Shout-out to creative cards like those on Thortful!)
5️⃣ Christmas Markets Mulled wine, festive treats, and handmade gifts—what’s not to love? Share a local market you adore or a funny story about a quirky stall you’ve visited. Let’s spotlight the small businesses making the season brighter.
And what about Thortful? This is a link for my daughter's unique cards.

1moWell, I'm a bit of a Deferred Gratification person. Our tree, real, doesn't go up until a few days before Christmas Eve. (That's what we did, when I was a kid). We don't have children, so it's just us and visiting family. I can see our neighbours, with young children all have trees up. My Dad died just before Christmas a few years ago and we still went ahead and 'did Christmas'. But, it's a massive retail/business opportunity, and nice for networking, and marking the year. And I used to love performing in panto, and Christmas shows. PS Love the Christmas Video, nice tree! I see it as a time to catch up on stuff.. But, do like a Christmas Market! 🙂
Looking at life from a different angle.
1moGreat post Ashley, We are off to Bath tomorrow for the Christmas Market. Hopefully this will be fun.
