“People, we are born with different strengths, it’s a matter of identifying those and ensure they are put in a position where they can succeed”

DOCTOR OF BUSSINESSS ADMINISTARTION (DBA)

What I experienced during my work life was, that the job I was engaged in for about 5 to 7 years was not my passion and due to this I was not producing great results, I could only apply what I learned from books as we call them as professional studies. Further, I did not enjoy what I was doing as a carrier. Promotions got delayed but I continued because of the paycheck. While I was studying for my advanced level my parents persuaded me to become a doctor, engineer, or lawyer. Therefore to please them, I decided to become an engineer, and I became one. I joined a five-star hotel maintenance department to pursue my carrier as an engineer and while in employment, was promoted to the management level after five or seven years mainly due to experience and not due to my excellent performance since the job I was engaged in was not my strength. When I was promoted to the management level I was producing great results and I loved and enjoyed the job, simply management was my strength not engineering and I excelled and became the best employee of the month, in the organization, I was employed. The secret to my failure and success was that anything can be learned, but my strength was the edge and this strength is known as my DNA, inheritance, and gift which is the natural inborn talent of all individuals. “Our strength is our talent” and it is natural and innate, produces great work instead of acquiring through learning and talented person fulfill knowledge, skill, and attitude (Campbell 1990). We learn that talent is defined as “natural aptitude or skill” or; “(someone who has) a natural ability to be good at something, especially without being taught”. However, recent research (Dries, 2013; Nijs , 2014; Thunnissen , 2013.)

“Experience is considered to be an individual’s perceptions of his or her presence in the world at the moment when things, truths or values are constituted”
