In the First Three Quarters, the Top4 Chinese Native Chicken Raising Companies Sold a Total of 1.344 Billion Chickens

Total Sales Exceed 1.344 Billion Chickens!

In the first three quarters of 2024, the total sales of meat chickens by the top four companies specializing in Chinese native chicken breeds amounted to 1.344 billion chickens, marking a year-on-year increase of 3.7%. Among them, Lihua sold a total of 376 million meat chickens in the first three quarters, with a year-on-year increase of 12.24%; Wens sold a total of 871 million meat chickens, a year-on-year increase of 1.04%; Xiangjia sold 33 million meat chickens in the first three quarters, which remained almost the same as the sales volume of the same period last year; Dekang sold a total of 64 million meat chickens, a decrease of 3.03% year-on-year.

From the perspective of average selling prices, the trend of average selling prices for these four leading companies in 2024 was roughly the same, rising first and then falling before the New Year, and continuing to rise to the peak within the year before gradually declining.

Affected by market conditions, the average selling prices in September showed a slight decline for all four companies. According to corporate sales briefings, the average selling prices of meat chickens in September for Wens, Lihua, Xiangjia, and Dekang were 13.03 yuan/kg, 13.16 yuan/kg, 11.04 yuan/kg, and 15.24 yuan/kg respectively, with month-on-month decreases of 1.36%, 1.50%, 1.34%, and 1.23% respectively.

Although the chicken prices saw a slight month-on-month drop, revenue rose thanks to increased sales volumes. According to publicly available corporate data, the sales revenue of meat chickens in the third quarter for Wens, Lihua, and Xiangjia were 8.79 billion yuan, 3.85 billion yuan, and 255 million yuan respectively; all showed an increase compared to the second quarter, with month-on-month increases of 9.59%, 10.25%, and 10.34% respectively.

In terms of net profit attributable to the parent company, Lihua's net profit attributable to the parent company in the first three quarters was 1.161 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 507.71%. Wens achieved a net profit attributable to the parent company of 6.408 billion yuan in the first three quarters, a year-on-year increase of 241.47%.

In terms of total operating revenue, Wens' total operating revenue in the first three quarters reached 75.384 billion yuan, an increase of 16.53% compared to the same period last year, with an increment of 10.694 billion yuan; Lihua's total operating revenue in the first three quarters was 12.684 billion yuan, an increase of 1.524 billion yuan compared to last year, with a year-on-year increase of 13.65%.
