Five days until the 2023 CSG National Conference kicks off!
What to expect + More from the states.
Meet keynote speaker, Douglas Brinkley, a presidential historian and best-selling author.
Douglas Brinkley currently serves as the Katherine Tsanoff Brown chair in humanities and professor of history at Houston’s Rice University . His expertise has landed him many roles, like contributing editor for Vanity Fair and a history commentator role for CNN . However, Brinkley has always had an interest in presidents and history.
From an early age, he spent time exploring the historic sites honoring his home state of Ohio’s former U.S. presidents, including the birthplace of Ulysses S. Grant, the home of Rutherford B. Hayes and the tomb of William McKinley. With his extensive knowledge of our nation's presidents, it is only fitting that he was selected for the presidential historian role with the The New York Historical .
CSG is excited to welcome Mr. Brinkley to the 2023 CSG National Conference next week in Raleigh, North Carolina.

One of our policy analysts, Mary Wurtz, sat down with Route Fifty to discuss apprenticeships - the challenges and what lies ahead.
“There are all kinds of challenges around how you classify apprentices and which existing classifications are appropriate for use because apprentices have few to no minimum qualifications."

CSG mourns the loss of a staple in American history and the first woman to serve as a Supreme Court justice, Sandra Day O'Connor.
For years now, we have celebrated her legacy through our O'Connor Scholars program. On our mission to advance the common good, we will remember the dedicated service of Justice O'Connor.
Excited about the upcoming CSG National Conference! 🌟 It's a grand platform for leaders to shine and grow. As Aristotle wisely put it - We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. 💫 Embrace this opportunity to foster excellence and innovation. See you in Raleigh! 🚀✨
