Five things that are killing your office life

Meeting without agenda and time limits

There is a reason why we call for a meeting. Aim is to get things done. It's not a tea break or snack sessions. You should know you are attending a wrong meeting, the moment it ends without action point or Minutes of the meeting or start without any specific agenda. So, if you are attending such meetings, make sure leave it with some excuse. Value your time.

Blame it on Monday!

This is the trending, blame everything on Monday. On the contrary, Monday should be the most productive day. Weekend is the only goal and when your team or an individual crib about bad start of the weekday and how we feel low about resuming to work.

Too many breaks

May it smoke break or tea, are you taking more than 3 breaks a day excluding lunch, there is something that is not right. You are not focused or simply not enjoying what you do. Either change job or manage it.

Office gossip

Are you updated about everything happening at office, good even about personal things of your colleagues? If your colleagues take updates from you or give unasked information for free, yes, you are becoming part of gossip. It is a major distraction avoid.

Untimely work target

When you are given a task, do you track it and keep a watch on turnaround time. Do you systematically approach to finish your tasks? You struggle in prioritising it and procrastinate. Do you stick by your promise of deliverables without follow ups? Think again.

It is so important to think beyond salary when working, as a professional one must also focus on new skills, learning & developing self and job satisfaction. You are giving time, you will get salary. But, satisfaction comes when you become responsible for your action and lead by example.

So, next time when you want to crib about your job, self-reflection is a must.
