Flexibility Data Exchange

- EDA Flex: In this project, we demonstrate the offering, processing and activation of flexibility options between asset operators, DSOs and TSOs. The process is based on the EDA data communication layer which supports a highly interoperable, low-cost, decentralized peer-to-peer exchange of electronic messages within the energy sector.
- Redispatch 2.0: Together with our partner BTC and a range of German power grid operators, we have organized a proof-of-concept project focusing on the data communication for flexibility options in Germany. The process is similar to EDA Flex: Producers of electricity report their redispatch potential to their DSO who, in turn, report the data alongside the DSO cascade up to the TSO. On the way up and down, grid operators calculate their redispatch requirements and finally send activation messages to the producers.
Both projects show that a decentralised peer-to-peer communication infrastructure can be adopted and deployed with minimal time effort. At the same time, this infrastructure provides secure end-to-end communication, high throughput and 100% availability as it was the case for the EDA infrastructure over the whole year 2019. All data communication has been implemented based on PONTON X/P.
