Flow Mastery Day 9

Flow Mastery Day 9

Make Your Lead Management Easier – Build Your Salesforce Flow!

Intro

Hello everyone,

Tired of doing the same tasks over and over again with your leads?

In this one, we're learning about Salesforce Flows. Flows are like little robots that can take care of boring work for you!

They'll automatically change lead information and send out the right emails, all based on what a new lead tells you. Let's build one together!

What are Salesforce Flows? They're Your New Best Friends

  • Flows = Automatic Helpers: Flows live inside Salesforce and do tasks you tell them to.
  • Save Loads of Time: Let Flows handle the updates, so you can focus on talking to leads.
  • Make Things Personal: Flows can send different emails to different kinds of leads, making them feel special.

Our Project: Building a Flow to Sort Your Leads

Here's what our Flow will do:

  • The Start: The Flow begins whenever someone fills out your lead form in Salesforce.
  • Ask Questions: We'll use 'Decisions' to check things like: What's the lead's job title? What kind of company do they work for? How big is their company?
  • Do the Right Thing: Based on their answers, the Flow will: Change the lead's status ("Super Interested," "Needs More Info," etc.)Send them an email that's perfect for them

Step-by-Step Guide: Let's Build a Flow!

  1. Open the Flow Builder:In your Salesforce settings, search for "Flows."Click "New Flow" and we're ready to go! Pick "Record-Triggered Flow." This tells our Flow to watch for new leads.
  2. Set the StartChoose "Lead" as the thing that starts your Flow. Choose "A record is created" so the Flow runs each time a new lead is added. Click "Done" for now.
  3. Meet Your First DecisionDrag a 'Decision' (it looks like a diamond) onto the space. Give it a simple name like "Check Job Title" Outcomes: Your outcomes are different job titles you care about, like: "Outcome 1: CEO""Outcome 2: Marketing Manager" or "Default Outcome" (This catches any other job titles)
  4. Tell the Flow What to DoLet's look at "Outcome 1: CEO": Change Status: Drag an "Update Records" box and link it to the "CEO" outcome. Tell it to change the lead's "Status" to "Hot Lead."Send a Welcome Email: Drag a "Send Email" box. Create an email in Salesforce, especially for CEOs.
  5. Do the Same for Other JobsRepeat the steps above for "Outcome 2: Marketing Manager" and other job titles. Change the status and emails to match each kind of lead.
  6. Testing Time! Before activating, SAVE your flow and click "Debug."Try it with a few fake leads to see if the status and emails update like you want.
  7. Go Live!If everything looks good, hit "Activate"! Your Flow is now working, saving you time!

Why This Project Is Amazing

  • No More Busy Work: Let the Flow update things for you!
  • Focus on Hot Leads: The right statuses mean you know who to contact first.
  • Great First Impression: Emails that fit their job make leads feel important.
